Ads are annoying
I’ve been using Paprika happily for years and I’ve liked it, with two caveats:
(1) upgrades often introduce new bugs. For example, for a long time, I was able to extract Cook’s Illustrated recipes into Paprika successfully through the Browser feature. But then, after an upgrade, it stopped working. Cook’s Illustrated requires a user name and password to log in, and suddenly the browser in Paprika stopped storing the cookies from Cook’s Illustrated. So I can log in, but it forgets that I’ve logged in and takes me back to the log in page as soon as I try to view a recipe on Cook’s Illustrated website.
(2) The Browser now plays ads.
I bought Paprika for my iPad, my husband’s iPad, and my laptop. I’ve paid quite a bit of money to this developer, in exchange for what I think is a good product. I find it extremely annoying that the developer has now added advertisements (that play full screen in the browser with sound). I am disappointed, and had I known that annoying ads would play every time I try to import a recipe via the Browser, I would not have purchased Paprika. I won’t be upgrading in the future, and if I find a different recipe app that fulfills my needs, I will be switching.
