Paprika Recipe Manager App Reviews

❤️ this app. Well worth the price.

The biggest hurdle in actually using a recipe manager to me is getting the recipe *into* the recipe manager. Paprika makes this so simple with their built in browser system that it makes me wonder what kind of voodoo they do behind the scenes to make it work. One feature I just noticed recently is it will auto-detect times within the recepies and let you tap and start a timer for that amount. Handy stuff. Really good, well worth the price. I would buy it for iOS and OS X again if I could.

amazing app!

This is one of the most useful apps I have downloaded. I have it on my mac, ipad and iphone and use it practically daily for meal planning. Truly indespensible for me! Keep up the good work!!

Fantastic App

Well worth the $20. I love this app. My significant other loves this app. And even more, we are still using this over a year since purchase. Some highlights: - cloud sync. so good. always have recipies and shopping lists in hand on iPhone - add recipies so easy, love the pictures (only thing the developer needs to work on is making more sites work. I have to build my own recipes >75% of the time) - looks great on all devices and platforms. Worth the money IMHO.

A great recipe manager

I’m really happy for the success found by Paprikas indie developers. It’s a great cookbook app on both Mac and iOS. My wife and I happily share the same recipe database and everything “just works” to keep our devices in sync. I’ve tried recipe apps before, but none of them had the polish and stream-lined thoughtful design of Paprika. My only wish is that it could auto-import recipes from more websites, but it’s fairly simple to request new site support from the responsive developers. Congrats on version 2.0 and all the best in success in the future.

Fantastic app and great update

I love, love, love this app. I have it on the phone and iPad as well as the Mac. The new Mac update is great. It finally brings the Mac up to par with (and maybe a little bit better than) the iPhone/iPad editions. The ability to drag and drop recipes into the meal planner is fabulous. I just wish the sidebar list of recipes could be filtered based on your categories. Id also love to see the ability to check how a consolidated item on the grocery list is made up (e.g. 14 eggs listed but why? going through all the source recipes is a nuisance; the iPhone app has a drop down list of all the recipes contributing to the total). These are small quibbles. The app is amazing and heavily used in our house.

One of my favourite apps

I’ve been using Paprika on my Mac, iPad and iPhone for a few years and it’s on of my favourite apps. Paprika doesn’t come with any recipes. Instead, it enables you to very quickly import your favourite recipes from the web. In most cases, you can import via a single click - in some cases, you need to use your clipboard. The ability to add recipes to multiple categories and add ratings, notes, and other meta data makes it easy to find something great to make. The app also comes with a built in shopping list feature (which I don’t use) and a meal planner (which I’ve started to use). It keeps all recipes in sync between your devices. It’s a great app which I don’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking to manage their recipe collection.

Everything I Need in a Recipe App!

There is so much to love about this app. The organization and recipe presentation is well thought out and efficient, its built in browser that seamlessly grabs recipes from all over the web, its cloud functionality that allows me to sync my iphone, ipad and imac. The only part of it I don’t use is the grocery portion, because I’ve already got that covered with the very fantastic ‘Grocery Gadget’. I absolutely recommend this recipe app. You will not be disappointed (that is, maybe, until you realize that you have to buy each of the iphone, ipad and osx app’s separately. Still, it works out to about $24 total, which, in my mind, is still absolute value!!!!)

Where is "get recipe" button after update?

Ive tried a lot of cooking apps and I love Paprika. Used it once and never looked back. Paid for having the app on my phone, iPad and Mac. Recommended it to all my cooking friends, whom also loved it. One of the biggest feature I like was how on certain popular cooking website (i.e. food network, bon appetit) you can just hit a "Get Recipe" button and it will pull everything from the recipe and create one in Paprika for you. However, after the update that button is gone! The timer and stuff are good, but to be not as useful as the Get Recipe button on the browser. Maybe there was some copyright infringement and Paprika had to take that button out, but to me that was what distinguished Paprika from the other cooking apps.

Loving Paprika!

Over the years I have been collecting recipes from family, friends, magazines, newspapers, cookbooks… and I have been trying to find just the right program to bring them all together. Paprika is it! I found it so easy to import my recipes (copying from emails, or importing from the web, where I surprisingly found many of my old recipes, so I didn’t have to re-type them!). I love the categories feature, and being able to paste in an image of my dish. I also love the Cloud sync feature, very useful!

No Multiple Photos Allowed

I just moved over from MacGourment Deluxe. The Good ====== Gerat software, has most of the features that I need/use. It imports well from MacGourment Deluxe, you just have to save your database first as a MacGourment non-deluxe version to get this app to recognize your database. Shopping cart works well, although I haven’t used that feature enough as I’m not as organized when it comes to planning my meals but my recipes are well orgaznied. The Bad ===== No multiple photos, this is a huge downside for me as I had painstakingly taken many photos step for step by step instructions that are now all gone, well they are there but I have to go back to MacGourment to reference them and that is a huge downside. No Steps! - I like having the app manage the number sequence of steps without that your work around is to do it manually which can be a little bit of a pain. Hindinsight Labs LLC. if you are listening please add support for multiple photos and steps and I’ll happily give this app a higher rating.

Really great app

Really great app for keeping your recipe collection in sync across all your devices, and a lot more.

Grocery List issues

Finding this app ok, except for the Grocery List. >It is lacking a search function to find items quickly. >Would like to customize the name of Aisles and the order they appear. >Should be able to select only the items you required to create the To Buy list. Not deselect everything you don’t need ! I don’t mind paying the extra money for this app. I would just would like it to be more efficient.

I wish there was a ZERO rating

If such a basic app weren’t bad enough, the icing on the crap-sandwich is that when you enter new email address and password for SYNC, *ALL* recipes are lost. That’s it, poof gone! Can’t believe such an oversight is in this app.

Awesome

Our whole family enjoys Paprika. Great software, well implemented, syncing works reliably too. Along with 1Password, it tops our list of most recommended apps. We have also found the help desk to be friendly and responsive. Looking down the road, would love to see rich text support…just thinking that in long, complicated recipes, it would help readability if we could make text bold, italic, and so on. One of the other reviewers commented that being able to insert pictures in the Directions area would be a great option, and I second that. Well done, Paprika team!

Amazing App!

This is the perfectrecipe app. Integration with iOS devices make shopping lists and planning so easy. Sharing with friends is simple and intake of new items is easy ans straightforward.

Time Saver

I love this app and am so glad I spent the money on it. Having all my recipes in one place that is easy to search makes meal planning and grocery shopping much easier. The app does a great job pulling recipes from most blogs and sites I visit and the cloud sync makes switching between devices effortless. The one thing I wish that the developers would add is the ability to add notes to the meal planner and not have to classify that note as a meal (like “make chicken stock” or “eat by 6pm" etc).

Great app, just missing a meal plan template feature

I’m a happy Paprika user as of about 1 year ago and the ability to pull recipies from virtually any website is wonderful! Also love being able to categorize the recipes, easily email them to people who ask for a recipe, and search the recipes. Great app! I do wish there was a way to create monthly or weekly meal plans as templates and reuse them, for example, to create a month’s menu plan, and save that plan, and be able to reuse it the next month. I have to build my plan from scratch each week and would love to be able to import the menu from last month, and then adjust as needed. If this feature were added, I’d give it a full five stars :)

Great Recipe App

This is a fantastic Recipe App. The ease in which you can capture recipes is Awesome. Only quirk I have run into is that it will only print one page of the recipe. This means you have have to set the font size to “tiny” to get the full recipe to print. October 21, 2016. Need to post a correction. Sent the Developer an email about the problem. They responded within 24 hours, giving me instructions on how to correct the problem . Works great now, just needed to change some settings on the print page.

Not sure yet?

I was under the impression that I could import my recipe from Sous Chef. Can’t figure out how and I submitted an inquiry to Paprika a week ago so still haven’t heard anything yet. I can do it one recipe at a time but that is a little time consuming. Any one else had this issue?

This app is in bad need of an update

This app haven’t changed in all the years i’ve been using it. We’ve been asking for things like multiple pictures per recipe and a grid layout but it seems to fall on deaf ears. There’s no effort put into updating this app at all. There’s so much potential with this app if the developer would just care… but people keep buying it so why bother trying to make it better.
